Soaring Heart’s GOTS-certified flat organic cotton mattress protector is hand-made in their Seattle shop from the highest quality cotton fabric. The pad is designed to act as a barrier against sweat, body oils, accidents, and spills by absorbing the moisture before it reaches your mattress. You can’t throw your mattress, futon or topper into the washing machine, but this mattress protector can be machine-washed.
Why go all natural/organic? Synthetic materials—such as polyester—reflect body heat and raises your body temperature, which makes you sweat more. This can make sleeping uncomfortable for you, and leaves a clammy feeling in the morning. Cotton absorbs sweat and body moisture naturally, cooling your body and reducing sweating and clamminess. Need extra protection? People with pets or children, or like having a cup of tea or coffee in bed, may want to layer this cotton mattress pad on top of a wool moisture barrier.
The cotton pad is over-sized to allow for shrinkage, so should be laundered before use. The corner straps will accommodate an 8″ mattress; or can be customized for a thicker mattress, just add a note to your order. Launder regularly to eliminate accumulated moisture.
